In this episode I share with you all some helpful tips to finding success in your New Year’s Resolution this year.
Starting a new exercise regimen too quickly and without the right guidance can be challenging.
When it comes to fitness we tend to hit the ground running without any guidance and structure and then burn out, blaming ourselves for not being enough. It’s a pattern that so many people fall into year after year.
In this episode I share some tips to help you finally find success in your fitness resolutions this year.
Tip #1 - Find a good coach
We could totally avoid this by first finding the right coach. I share with you how you can approach that and resources you can use in your community to find the right person.
As well as, how the right guidance can help you individualize a plan that invokes purpose, joy, connection and fun in your fitness practice.
This will support you longterm and teach you the skills you need to build a fitness practice that will last a lifetime.
Tip #2 - acknowledge what is working
Acknowledging what is working builds trust in your decision making and trust in your body’s natural ability to create lasting health.
If we’re not acknowledging what is working or our accomplishments then we bypass our ability to trust ourselves.
Bringing awareness to progress that you’re making is your tool for building trust and discovering what works.
Tip #3 - Create the Space
Many people do not create the space for new information to come in and integrate. We just try to pile it onto everything else that we’re doing never really absorbing the information and giving ourselves the space to put it into practice.
It’s a process so I highly encourage everybody to start thinking about the process of getting fit to take longer than a month.
It’s about surrendering to the commitment so we can begin to give ourselves the space and time to learn the skills, implement and practice and then integrate.
It’s ok and even essential to be in a place of the unknown but if trust is not built then we stay here never really creating space for change.
